well the old 350 is out, but the 454 isnt quite ready to go in yet, so i have a question. is the stock starter from the 350 good enough to use on the 454?? its a pretty mild build, .030 over, edelbrock cam, intake, carb, stock heads.

i assumed as much from many many old threads i had read, i was just making sure since its a whole lot easier to switch starters while that big motor is sitting in my garage as opposed to squeezed in the car. thanks for the responses guys..........hopefully the motor will go in this weekend!!

you usually do not put start on till the motor is in the car. never done that before

If you are dropping the engine in with no headers or manifolds attached it makes life WAY easier when putting the wires on the starter, well that and you can check to make sure the starter is shimmed correctly if needed.

k, i just never done that before. never really thought much about it. lol
my luck i would hit it on the sub frame or our cherry picker would screw up. when we pull out motors it is already wanting to lean. lol
