well today i went out and started my engine for the first time in a month, i pumped it alot and it wouldent start then i saw smoke going outa the hood and poped my air cleaner and it was on fire so i took care of it and cleaned it up and it started right up and i set the Edelbrock performer carb to 1.5 fuel\air mixture each. then i took it for a ride and it was pretty decent, but i got back and i had smoke comeing from the bottom of the head, i think it might have a blown gasket and it has white smoke comeing from the right tail pipe and the right rail pipe is geting my exaust then the left or visa versa. what you all think, i was planing on building a 350 to put in it anyways but still...

white smoke from pipes is almost always a head gasket.

Does the white smoke have a sweet smell? You can usually smell burned anti-freeze.
I'd presurize the radiator and pull the spark plugs on the suspect side. Let it set awhile and
crank it over and see if you get moisture shooting out of one of the plug holes.

found out it was just the exaust manifold leeking, it does burn very rich so thats why i saw wired smoke, but my 92 camaro has the antifreeze smeel ur talking about, i thought it had a blank gasket at first but i took it to a shop they said it was fine and i should put a biger fan on it so i got a stock fan and it hooked it up to always run and it never goes over 220 now but when i pop the hood soooooo much heat comes out and it has the exact smell ur describing. and the overflow always gets filled up a little then emptys back in the radiator. has a new radiator, temp sensor, fan, thermostate. think thats a headgasket? how hard are they to do on thouse damn TBI 305's?

Sounds like a head gasket leaking into the cooling system. Just my .02
