My neibor came over said he had the same problem in his vega and his leak was around the head bolts? I put a dab of silicone on each bolt when i installed them he said i should have used something else? Opinions?
Is it worth reassembly? No visible craks, gaskets look good.

Head bolts 'weep' and make milky oil. No way are they going to dump 1/2 qt. in the oil pan in just a 10 minute drive. If they were gushing water, you would have had one head full of standing water, and the other just milky oil. I think you need to dig deeper.

I don't think that is your problem either, however Holley recommends blue permatex for the head bolts on their systemax kits. That's what I used.
