I was looking at some speed pro cams for possible use in another sbc down the road.Looked at a couple with a lift of between 510 and 533.However, it says I can't use it with power brakes. Just wanting to build something around 10.5 to 1 and have some fun.
Wrong cam? Wrong brand? Go solid? Am running a XE268 with world heads in my other motor.

What is the duration at .050 as well as the CI of the motor.

Rick Wi; In ref: to your question:
Valve Lift Dur. adv. Dur.@.050 Lobe c/l
Int/Exh Int/Exh Int/Exh
.510 .510 318 318 244 244 108

With this cam I have 3-6 lbs. vacuum loss
.468 .480 304 287 220 231 110

Was looking at Crane cams also and didn't see anything about a brake issue with them.

Thanks...Jim

244 on 108 should be no problem, what converter, CI, gear?

Please consider either an Isky Z-25, -27 or -30 solid cam!!

The Z-30 can use 11 to 1 CR. real GOOD!!

one of my friends has a .510 lift speed-pro and it seems to be good quality, sounds awesome too. he has had it for 2 years and no problem.

Sounds good Dave, do you know if he has power brakes? Any brake issues?

Speed Pro makes a quality cam. As for your Power Brakes, in a 350 anything more than 240 @ .050 is too much, IMO.

Id be happy with a 230 @ .050 in a 350, considering your gears http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Re: Dave's 76..Thanks for the reply, that was my next question. Jegs makes a vacuum reserve system(so does Crane) looks like it would work.
Great, thanks for the input. I really like that Speed Pro 244.
Prob. easier to go with a Hyd cam instead of solid at this time.
