I have acquired a partial assembled engine. I have some casting #'s but I don't have ALL the ones I think I need. The block casting # on the rear of the block is 3970010. The head castings both ended in "186". Behind the timing chain is # "776509" and also "512" and then "G38". The harmonic damper is an 8" and has a # "3942538". I've been on Mortec and the numbers are inconclusive. There are NO #s on the front (pass-side) ledge in front of the deck. Maybe the block has been decked before? The cylinders still measure a 4" bore, so it's never been bored.

302's 327's had that number in 69 then 350's 69-80 so more then likley its a 350. Some of the 350 blocks like I have the date casting code is on the side of the block. some or most I here is on the rear flange. Motec I think has that info as well

I just found out that the balancer is original equipment for a 302. The intake and carb are gone. I'll look for more date numbers tomorrow in the daylight.
