View Full Version : 305 hp estimate thomas_quinn 07-16-2005, 09:16:00 AM Right now my 81 camaro is stock I am installing headers, a edelbrock performer intake and edelbrock pefromer 600 car, and a 214\224 cam cant rember all the specs any estimates? Camaroz 07-16-2005, 11:02:00 AM Taking for granted that there are a few miles on the motor, and these mods are a good match for your set up, I would guess about 150-180 to the ground. (New they had about 140) Just my .02 Good luck Steve thomas_quinn 07-16-2005, 12:48:00 PM Engine only has 40k on it, just looking for a little extra power until I can build a new engine. badazz81z28 07-16-2005, 02:09:00 PM throw a NOS cheater kit on it.. thomas_quinn 07-16-2005, 08:52:00 PM I thought about that but its a street car and I would never use it. 73454 07-16-2005, 11:45:00 PM You should expect maybe 15-20 HP, not much more. pdq67 07-17-2005, 12:01:00 AM The biggest problem is your low CR IF it is down in the 8.5 CR. range???? Get it up to about 9.5 to 9.75 to 1 AND you will make more power with your combination!!!! pdq67 80'427 07-17-2005, 12:40:00 AM cam is a bit big isn't it? I would pick a smaller one that would build more torque to help the high gears I bet it has. Plus you won't want to spin it that hard. I would look at the 204 214 cam it would help save more cylinder pressure. Also on the cheap a stock 350 cam in a 305 makes a good cam. thomas_quinn 07-17-2005, 04:22:00 AM I went a little bigger on the cam car is a 4spd with 3:90 gears about to be installed pdq67 07-17-2005, 11:19:00 AM The 350 motor's cam should be the great old -929 cam.. A Performer cam, (204/214), should do nicely too.. Just saw the 4-speed and future 3.90 gears!! 214/224 is a FINE cam!! pdq67 |
