Hey people,
Im having major problems with my 87 full size blazer 4x4. I have a nice steady drip of oil coming down near the filter area. I thought at first a fitting for the oil cooler was loose. I looked into it somemore and got oil dripped all over me. Above the filter on the block I have a roughly 3/8th inch pipe thats about 3 inches long with a 90 deg fitting on the end. Threaded into it is a sensor of some sort with a wire coming out of it. If I pop the hood it is directly behind the ds exhaust manifold. Well anyway the oil appears to be coming out of this sender. I dont think this has anything to do with the oil pressure gauge as the sender for that is behind the throttle body. What is this "sender" ? Can I just plug it off and be good to go?

Not sure if this will help but I have nothing like that on my 86 Full sized Blazer with a 305 . . .

Try unplugging the wire and see what happens... could be the gauge sender... or possibly a oil pressure kill switch. Nothing like that on my '88 either...

Here's the strange part. I changed 2 oil pressure sender " on the intake manifold" cause the gauge quit working about 6 years ago. Never did get it to work again. I dont drive the truck much, so it wasnt a big deal. But what I think is because it has the factory tow package this is the one that actually controls the o.p gauge. Im gonna try plugging it off and see of the truck still runs. Do you guys have an oil light or the actual oil pressure gauge?

Your truck TBI? This is what I think you have. The sender at the back of the intake is your fuel pump switch. Does it have 2 wires? And the one above the oil filter is a can type oil pressure sender. 1 wire there?
