Hey guys, i decided to go with a solid lifter setup, and i just have a couple questions about it. First, what do i need to adjust the valve lash? I have the cam specs, but do i need shims, or do i just tighten the rockers until they stop making noise? im probably going to look kinda dumb for this one, but where do you check the valve lash at? im guessing between the rocker tip and the valve stem? i did a search, but i didnt find anything helpful as far as this goes. thanks everyone

Your cam card will will tell you a lash setting.
Use a feeler gauge that adds up to the valve lash specs and slip the feeler gauge between top of valve stem tip and bottom of rocker arm.
Use the go, no go way of adjusting. Meaning if your spec is .020" lash then a .020" feeler gauge will slip in snug but a .021" gauge won't go at all

And I might add, do it warm, idling slow using the old "shade-tree" feelie method and be done w/ her!!

You can rough them in during final assembly... but for a final lash setting the motor should be close to operating temp.

Final lash is set with the engine temp hot.
