I have searched, but not found a straight yes or no answer. I have a 78 camaro and I want to swap the 350 for a 454. Will the 454 mount up to the stock mounts in the stock location? Some posts have said yes, some say that you would have to get a different style motor mount, maybe it was year dependent (ie 70 did need diffent type, while my 78 did not) and it was not clear of the year in the post.
Thanks

I hate Barrett-Jackson. They take a good hobby and price vehicles beyond the average hobbist. Mark my words, BJ will soon have late 70's vans selling over 250,000.

Use the SBC mounts and you'll be fine.
Dynomax makes headers that fit well in case you're wondering as well http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif

Yes, use your original small block mounts. 73-81 with a small block has the same mounts.

I'll third that (clamshell frame mounts and original SBC motor mounts) - I've got mine mocked up in my garage right now on the bare sub frame and it all looks good.
BTW - I will also second the dynomax headers. Cheap and a good fit. Looks like I might have to shave a tiny bit off the drivers side motor mount to be perfect.

Thanks for the quick response. Please humor me here, I remove the motor mounts from the SB and put them on the BB?

Yes, just unbolt from the SBC and put on the BBC (unless you want to detail it first).

What about the 70-72 mounts? How are they different? Will the SBC mounts work when installing a BBC?
