I bought a complete 5.7 Vortec engine from a '97 Chevy C1500 yesterday for $50. It has a spun bearing. I understand because this is a factory roller engine, it'd be cheaper to go back with a roller cam set up vs retro fitting an older block. I need some ideas on what I should build. I could easily be happy with a stroker engine or even just a bore job. I may sell the heads simply because I KNOW I want something beyond what Vortecs can offer. Are these blocks strong enough for abuse? I'm thinking forged steel crank and ARP bolts regardless of what stroke I choose. I may plan on something to match my AFR Eliminators that patiently wait for their call of duty. What would y'all build? I can't really say what kind of budget I want to stay under, because at this point, if it takes 2 years to build....so be it. I really don't want to "cut corners" just to save a buck. I definitely want a BULLET PROOF package. My Camaro already has a pretty stout 360 in it now, but like anyone, I want MORE!!!
