Jet 07-02-2005, 10:36:00 PM What does it have on it now???? theflash 07-02-2005, 10:39:00 PM How much money do you have? Skaal-tel 79 07-03-2005, 12:28:00 AM new manifold, carb, exhaust system, camshaft and some head work. thats cheap (relatively) then you can overbore, up compression, swap old engine mounted fans for electrical ones, get a new ignition system... remove emissions power drainers- egr, air pumps if you have em. what are you looking to do? all the things are listed are on my wish list or already checked off http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif night rider 07-03-2005, 01:50:00 AM You need to list more info.. Like your budget, goals, plans, useage, etc. When it comes to a SBC 350 you can do anything and everything from a $600 bolt ons project to an all out boosted $15,000 1,000+ hp build up. Skaal-tel 79... Listed the common mods though Marv D 07-03-2005, 10:33:00 AM Probably the first place to start (on any budget) is exhaust. No cam, carb or engine mod is going to offer as much seat of the pants gain as getting rid of the restrictive stock exhaust system. Get her breathing on the exhaust side then changes you make in the motor will offer MUCH more potential. Mwilson 07-03-2005, 10:52:00 AM Exhaust then Intake/carb then cam/converter 79-Z 07-03-2005, 03:07:00 PM Right now there are no mods to it.except for a new 4-barrel, new carb manifold and a possible cam. Money isnt that big of a deal. probably $1500. I would like to have atleast 325hp. I really want to beat my brothers new lt-1. so i need some help. pdq67 07-03-2005, 10:20:00 PM Get it up to right at 10 to 1 CR. for cast-iron heads or say, 10.5 to 1 CR. for aluminum heads for starters! Vortec heads are about the BEST bang there is for the buck, imho... But you need a dedicated Vortec intake, rockers and valve covers... A set of cheap, 1.625" four tube, long headers, a good matching carb. and intake like say a 3310-, 750cfm Holley carb. and either a Holley 300-36 true high-rise dual plane intake or an E-Brock RPM. A good old CC 270S OR 282S solid cam.. Depending on your rearend gears AND tire size?? And you will be putting out some serious power! Use this as a start.. pdq67 |
