I have some pretty bad blow-by going on. I've noticed this for a while and its only been getting worse. I am pretty sure I have some worn rings or bad cylinder bores. When the car is up to temp you can actually see the gasses pouring our of the breathers.
I am slowly building a new engine. The current engine is a 305 and is better off in a junkyard. However, it still runs and drives fine aside from the power-loss due to crappy compression.
My question is....is there anything I can do to help the rings seal? I've tried putting Marvel Mystery Oil into the cylinders hoping I had a stuck ring....no luck. Would 20W-50 be a good idea? Would running 2 pcv valves do any good? I'm not really interested in a crankcase evacuation system since this is only a temporary solution and I would rather not hack into my headers. Any good ideas?
