Has anyone ever ran into a problem getting their power brake intake manifold fitting to fit between their manifold and carb? i have a Dart 6101 with an AED 750 carb and there is not clearance between the manifold and the rear metering block to fit the power brake vaccum fitting. The port for the manifold is in the same place as any other holley or edelbrock manifold and the carb is basically the same as a holley 4150 i believe. Anybody have suggestions or know of where to get a shorter fitting?

Thanks a lot

Alex

i had the same problem but i was fortunatley using a 1" spacer so mine was not as drastic. go to your local hardware store and see if they have a 90* elbow that will thread into the manifold. i got mine in dallas and once it is screwed into the manifold i only had prolly 1" of the fitting above the manfold. look around they have some fittings that will be more compact than others.

I bought an elbow from Lowe's. ground down the top as much as I could, then screwd it in as far as it would go (really torqued the sh*t out of it) and I had about 1/64 of an inch clearance between the back bowl and the fitting. Oh, I also had to use like 2 or 3 carb base gaskets, too - It can be done, but it'a a PITA!

All the time, common problem. We will typically drill and tap a fitting into the back of the plenum.

Just buy a fitting that fits in the hole and run flexible vacuum hoses.
