View Full Version : bearing thickness engine 04-05-2007, 06:20:03 PM what is the nominal thickness of a connecting rod bearing...thereabouts? .050" more or less? doechsle 04-05-2007, 11:20:15 PM well a small block chevy rod bore will be 2.2247 to 2.2252 in spec range. Lets just say its 2.225. The journal in std size is 2.100. So the bore is .125 larger than the jrnl, you have 2 brgs so I would say the brg would measure in the .0615 range each to allow for oil allowance. A .010 under brg will be .005 thicker. So lets just say about .060 to .075 range there abouts to allow for std to several undersizes. engine 04-07-2007, 01:26:38 PM thanks! |
