I was excited to get home today and tackle this last frame mount. Get the SB mount off and fit the BB mount on the frame and - No Go.

The engine needs to sit down lower to be on the correct level with the frame mount hole but the mounts are bottomed out and the engine is sitting full weight on the frame mounts (I'm sure all of the mounts are correct).

SO....I went up and bought one small block ENGINE mount and put the SB FRAME mount back on and set it down and it was wayyyyy closer. I think if I used SB engine mounts on both sides it would work.

Does a 396 still use small block motor mounts????

You can use the small block mounts.......

Well there are two different mounts for the engine made by Energy Suspension. Tall and narrow, and short and wide. The Correct BBC frame mounts would use the tall and narrow engine mounts. You can use the SBC engine mounts, but you will probably have to use some sort of spacer or shim since the BBC frame mounts are shorter and narrower than the SBC frame mounts.

Gordon,

I used the small block towers and mounts for all of my BBC swaps in and out. Zero Problems with fittment. I did swap in the BBC OEM towers and mounts and nothing fit.

I can not speak to the energy suspension fit as I never used them. Only OEM or Moroso Solid stuff. What flash says makes sense to me.
