Gen V big block heads on a Mark IV block...

Can this be done? Does it require a special gasket? If so, does anyone have a source and part number?

Id get ahold of one of the GM Performance Parts dealers and ask them.

Greenwold ; Scoggins-Dickey ; Pace

Just look in the back of a car rag http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif

I think Scoggin Dickey sells a little copper headgasket washer plug kit to do this if not mistaken???

I know one of the Gen 5/6 blocks you can't use Mk IV heads on....I think its 5....and the 6 you can, but with a special head gasket.

It was in a car rag a LONG time ago I believe.

I can go visit my local machine shop tomorrow (if I remember) and ask them....

What is a V gen BBC?? 2000 something unit?. Mark IV is the normal BBC? 366 Truck (Tall Deck), 396, 402 427, 427 Truck(Tall Deck), 454 Stroked 427, 454, 496, 502 Board out 454, 510 Stroked 454 all should be the same.

The actual block design is different.

Gen 5 blocks have no mach fuel pump

Gen 6 starts back up with it and is made for roller cams.

The MkIV is 'old school BBC' as we mostly know http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif
