I am very disapointed I could not go on Saturday becasue of my leaking car. BUT I did get to launch some model rockets.

Anyway I have a few ideas for the next cruise. I would like it two to three weeks from now. Also Some ideas for spots are:

KFC in Carmel-the parking lot is nice
Marcus Dairy Restaurant- by the way it starts April 28th
Burger King in Brewster- big parking lot
Red Rooster in Brewster- Much better for an old car cruise/ but small lot
Any more suggestions would be great!
Pasquale's pizza in Carmel-near the burnt down wendy's

Also I wil bring pics of my car this time so everyone can at least see what I have!

Kevin, we'll talk about these later this week when i get back in NY, im in RI right now some of them sound like some good ideas...i'll talk to you then.

Kevin....how about the HUGE empty part of the parking lot where shoprite in carmel is. They use it to hold the bazaar there, I use it to test my 4x4 in my truck when it snowy ;) It huge, and nobody bothers you over there. Just another option.

KJZ28
04-02-2007, 11:08:34 PM
That sounds good! That means we can make someone drive over to KFC and pick up a few buckets of chicken for all of us. Oh and those scrumptious BISCUITS!
What kind of 4x4 do you have?

XxWickedz28xX

just an 01 blazer...nothing special. I just go there when its snowy and mess around.

I'd rather cruise around then hang in a parking lot, unless we have a BBQ!

Any requests for specific areas to cruise? What about a fishkill to rhinebeck area cruise? Or a new paltz area cruise, get something scenic then hang out afterwards. If we had even more planning, get together with the "other" generation camaro clubs and have one long cruise with each generation in order. Just figure i'd throw that out there. Mike

KJZ28
04-04-2007, 09:57:05 AM
That is good. The only reason I suggested these areas is becasue they are close to me, and I do not know how far my firebird will get before it runs out of coolant!
I would really like to have the next cruise at some kind of nostalgic restaurant type place. Like Red Rooster(I know it is not old but ist gives you that 50's era feel) Also there is Arnolds, do any of you know about Arnolds, it is based off of the Happy days Arnolds. It does not look like it but it is cool. I think when it gets warnmer they have girls on roller skates come outside and serve you food at your car!!!

I think what we could do somewhere down the raod (May, June, or July) when planning is easier is do a BBQ into a cruise, or vis versa.

My opinion would be a cruise from say fishkill to rhinebeck, or to new paltz or all three.

I'm not sure about an event in April as i dont know if i will eb able ot make it, but if everyone wants to have one i will help plan it and see what happens.

One suggestion for a summer bbq is i know along the Taconic state parkway there are parks and picnic sites and i believe there is one up towards hydepark that is right on the river, might be a nice spot for a bbq.

Off of taconic there is James Baird park..which would be an awesome spot, and i bet we can use any of the mansions in Hyde Park which rest along the hudson.

The mansions (Mill's and Vanderbilt) are amazing. I would have to look into where and if there are BBQ's on the site. I know for a fact parking would not be a problem at all though.

I talked with the dyno guy last year and he was debating selling the business, so I'm not sure he still has it. He told me he tries to go every other week. I never got a chance to put the car on it last year, but if he is there this year, I'll make sure I get it done this time, I didn't have that O2 bung installed for nothing. :)

That would be so disapointing if he sold the business, I love seeing cars pull a few runs. It is also entertianing seeing some of them break.

Maybe Ill get my Z28 on the road for the summer!! But it depends all on when I get my rusted floor pans and toe board welded in along with some other details tied up.

The only thing i might have time for in the next month or so is maybe a weeknight car cruise, too busy with Little League with both boys playing this year. Plus i'm up in the air on when i'm getting my leaf springs done, i'm trying to order OER only parts, but there is a backorder on the OER leaf spring installation kit, this is not good. This is really holding me up, not going as planned, thats for sure.

I posted another one a while back in Danbury, pretty much a Mustang guy though. At the time he wanted to install an O2 bung and I wasn't going to let him do that to my car. Now with the new exhaust I had one installed, so it might be worth looking into again. He wasn't cheap though.

Hey guys I know most of you are upstate but if your looking for a cruise destination and dont mind coming down into Jersey, the is a great place called the Chatterbox in I think Agusta, which is up in Sussex county, no wheres near the armpit.

It is an old drive in, and its all done up in car stuff with a dragster inside. I went there last year for a camaro show but it was canclled at the last minute.

But the place is cool, and you New Yorkers could take 7 lakes drive down to the end in Sloatsburg, and head up 17 instead of down, and ride thru the country out to Warwick, and then head south into Jersey via 94 or 202 or 206 and wind up at the chatterbox.

Something to consider for an all out Cruise maybe later on in the summer some time.

I think the place in Danbury wanted about $125 for 3 pulls. I'll have to check it out again. There is a place in Milford, CT, Pruven Performance, that I have gone to a few times in the past, but it's now an hour drive from me. Besides, they are a ricer shop.

I went to Marcus dairy, there was one second gen and it was a white '80 I think. But there was not many cars. Although there was a pick up with airbags that was scraping the frame rails for about 200 feet.
Also they allowed a CRX in, but there WAS a catch, it was powered by a jet turbine!! It was SO loud!! Really cool!! The FIRST and only inmport car I have ever taken a picture of!!!!
