You're gonna have to do a search, bud. As I recall, the engine itself is dropin, but you have slight issues if you wanna keep a/c, moderate issues if you're keeping fuel injection. Ask UltimateZ for his fuel injection manual, and there was another member who has a webpage for the whole conversion (into a 78-81)

Mounts should be a drop in, but the trans crossmember will have to go back a little; 4L60 is longer. Different shaft or shorten yours.
Best and cheapest route is to get the tank out of the Caprice, it should be an almost drop in. I saw a guy fit one in a 69, and the 2nd gen is bigger back there. That way you have the intank baffling and pump.
Brackets are a pain, where the a/c mounts interferes with the frame. You could use a Corvette setup, or Street and Performance brackets. GM sells an a/c delete bracket.
You'll need to weld in a O2 bung, if using headers put it in the collector and use a heated O2 sensor.
I decided to start making notes on my webpage as I go along, anyone have the link to the 78 conversion page?
