View Full Version : Cleaning Piston Top Carbon Adam G 03-30-2007, 12:17:20 AM Hey guys, What's the best recommended method for cleaning the carbon off the tops of the pistons during a head swap. I'm assuming there's a chemical out there that makes this a snap. Thanks. blown1981z28 03-30-2007, 12:22:11 AM In the car I would say the absolute best thing would be AC Delco top engine clean. A cup and a brush, wipe up with a clean rag. That is how I would do it. Gum Cutter or Non Chlorinated Brake clean(green can) would be my second choices. warped 03-30-2007, 02:35:24 PM What! He shot a few squirts in each plug hole, replaced the plugs and started it up!
