i am building a hornet car for my crew to race and have fun in. i am wondering if anyone can tell me some good ideas to do to the 2.5 4 tech motor that is in it. i have to tear the motor apart anyway as the rod bearings are going. its starting to knock. also can anyone tell me what the bore and stroke is on the motor??

any places to order good parts for it and so on? any info would be great.

thanks,
joe

Don't quote me on it, but I believe it's 4" bore, 3" stroke.
It will respond to all the same improvements as a V-8, such as decking the head and block for more compression, porting the head, header, (slightly) larger cam, etc.

thats what i thought on the bore and stroke. so this is what they call the 151 iron duke motor then correct?

anyone else have some good ideas?? i was thinking of getting rid of the dish pistons and putting in flat tops.

Didn't they make two of them?? the little 153 Chevy II 4-banger years ago AND then the 151 that I think is called the Iron Duke...

He, He!! Be neat to drop a SB head on onna the little buggers!!

Plus, didn't the I-D have a good cross-flow head on it at some point??

PS., I never did get the straight skinny on the differences between the Chevy II 4-banger and the Iron Duke????

If I remember correctly, the Iron Duke was a Potiac-built motor which had TBI on it before is demise.

I had an '88 S-10 pickup with that motor.
