today when i was coming home i got off the interstate and i had a oil presssure fluctuation. i was running about 62 pounds at 4000rpm at 200 degree. i got on the ramp and let off the gas and the pressure fell to 40 pounds, but came up as soon as i stepped on the gas. then at the stoplight at idle it was at 26 pounds (normal) and then dropped to 12 pounds for maybe .5 seconds and came back it. It was fine after that. I am trying to figure out what it is.

It is just because i had a long hard run on the interstate? What the sudden drop in rpms and the oil restrictors i have for roller cam, not give the guage fuel pressure? I have a 7 qt pan, but only put about 5.25 qts in the pan and i run a 25% high volume melling pump. Could i possibly just ran out of oil for a slight second if the oil ran to the front of the pan due to the deceleration?

i have another guage i can use to check it. i also noticed i may have a very slight leak at the guage, just the fitting was wet. will see what happens to tomorrow. the things has great pressure other than those 2 times. it only has 1000 miles on it.

With a 7 qt oil pan and the filter holding 1 qt and you only put 5.25 qts in - I'd guess you uncovered the sump when you decelerated. IMHO

it was 6 qts total. filter took about 3/4 qts. i will be getting more oil soon. i bought 20w-50 amsoil synthetic but the guy only had 6 qts. he should have more in tomorrow.

with a 7qt pan. you put 7qts in plus the filter correct?

thanks
