Correct. any Txx code is truck, and after 1970, all truck engines were low HP, low compression engines, so the original application doesn't matter. Just rebuild it to be what you want it to be today. The 4 bolt truck blocks are great starting parts for a performing engine.

K0516TBC - engine assembled at the McKinnon engine assy plant on may 16th ,1979 350sbc 165hp 4 bolt main used in conv cab pick-ups with man trans fed emissions
19J520863 - chevy truck built in 1979 at janesville wisconsin truck assy plant , last six of vin # 520863
462624 cyl heads - 1975-86 350 and 400sbc 76 cc 1.72/1.5 .... 1.94/1.5 and 2.02/1.6 valve sizes

thx. but i believe mines 2 bolt.. does that mean its weaker and shudnt build it.

I'd build it even if it is a 2 bolt. Chevy small blocks in 2 bolt are plenty strong blocks for performance engines.

cool was feelin lil depressed thinkin i had a SLOW engine but WEAK as well. il just put new cam in it first off i think

you have to get the compression ratio up on the motor to make more power 8 to 1 just aint gunna cut it
