...but I didn't know that the frame mounts were different. I thought I only had to swap the motor mounts to big block.

Going to NAPA tomorrow to see if they have big block frame mounts.

Hooking a chain to three intake bolts so the engine was on a 45 degree natural angle was the trick. Then we jacked up the transmission tail after it was in the trans tunnel to level it out and it was a piece of cake. Left the shifter on the transmission even.

Thanks for the advice.

A few spare hours and a couple of country boys was all it took!

You know you can use the SBC frame AND engine mounts and it'll all fit, right ?

Myself and alot of others have done that. Those with 70-72 cars could use the BBC mounts. Then again, there were different tower mounts out then as well.

So like, what is your overall goal/idea with the engine/frame mounts ??

I put the big block motor mounts on the engine, dropped it in the car, and they are tad too narrow to fit over the frame mount. I have recently purchased all of this stuff and don't have old small block mounts. I have pried, beaten, bled and cussed and none of this worked. I literally stood on top of the engine and jumped up and down (still secured loosely by the hoist of course).

Since I have big block motor mounts, I may as well get the dang big block frame mounts.

I guess I must have been delusional when I thought this would be simple!
