ha not really but if my luck keeps on going the way it has i'd prolly sell it for a penny!! my problem is getting my 750 dual pumper holley to not leak!! when i got the engine i pulled it out of a truck so it did run fine w/o leaks. the old fuel lines were AN lines i think maybe like size 10. and in the process of cleaning the teflon tape out of my float needles one of the flares on the line broke off! so i went to pep-boys (big misteak) and got thier generic brand duel inlet holley fuel line kit. then i bring it home to realize that i don't have the correct fittings to screw the new lines into the bowls. so i went to work on Monday and asked a guy at work if he had anything i could use/ borrow. just so happened he had a set of bowls off a carb he was rebuilding for a friedn an he let me borrow the fittings so i could hook up my new fuel lines temporarily. the new fuel lines just had simple double flares at the ends that go into the carb, just like brake lines. but when i got the new fuel line on it leaked in every spot possible for fuel to come out of!!! so i went back to worki the next day and he had found a -8 AN dual inlet fuel line set up that he had on a 850 double pumper. i took it home, after i forked over the $45, and i had to file down the bowls just so the fittings would screw all the way into the bowls. once that was done i find out that the line that goes between the two inltes was about 1/2 inch SHORT!!!!! WTF he had it on an 850!!! so then i try and order a totally new piece from Jegs it was a little diffrent form the -8AN lines but it was the same size, which this was another $50!! then the next day they email me and tell me it is on back order!!! and i really need to have this thing moving on it's own power this weekend! so back to the jegs site i go. i ordered the simple Holley Chrome double inlet fuel lines and the correct fittings. theyarrived yesterday. i put them all together and guess what IT LEAKS!! although now i have diffrent leaks. it comes out along the tubes like maybe the flare isn't sealing in the ALSO bran new Holley fuel bowl fittings. then the fittings are allowing a little fuel to leak out at the bowls too. the new fittings cam with a crush ring that was supposed to go in the bowl side of the fitting and then a small brown gasket that i assumed went in the flare end of the new fitting. iono where else it would go. so i tightened all of the set-up as tight as it will go. however i think that maybe the back fitting could be tighter as i can't get a wrench on it that well with the firewall and the dist. in the way.

really the main reason i am writing is to see if anyone has ran across any of the many problems i have mentioned. so that way i will maybe know that i'm not cursed! and if anyone has anything at all to add i appreciate it.

thanks in advance

Those Holley cathedral bowl fittings can be a real pain in the arse. Other than suggesting going down to Autozone and getting a late '60s Qjet for $99 and being done with it, I haven't messed with a Holley in several years http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif I do know sometimes they take a good bit of torque to seal though.

yeah the guys at work also siad to get it as tight as i could. so as i closed my eye's and cringed i just tightend all the fittings to where i thought the threads were gonna pull out.

so now that i got it running i have come across more problems, hmm who'd guessed that was comming. now i have found that the water pump pulley is not alighned with the alt or the crank pully. it sits further out because of the spacers needed to keep it from rubbing on the pump. so yeah i'm gonna drive it to school and get it alighned then decide hwo i'm gonna handle that problem. i'll either buy new pullies or try and grind down the water pump pulley to get more clearance so i can take one of the spacers out.
