Are these carbs worth rebuilding? Reason I ask is a friend of mine has 5-6 of them and was going to throw them out, but he gave them to me instead. They all seem to have all of the correct linkage and accessories.

Thoughts?

If you decide to throw them out, throw one or two my way http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif

Shane,

I think they are a good low-perf carb. I have used them very successfully on the small block truck engines that I have built. If you have a use for them they are worthy of a rebuild in my opinion.

Yeah !! you can throw one or two my was also http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif Theyre a pretty decent carb for a mild street car. If you really want to just get rid of them you could throw 'em up on Ebay & probably get enough to get yourself a really nice new carb.

Are these just stock replacement carbs or did they come on anything from the factory?

And fwiw, the old Ford, 361 and 391 6-wheeler type big trucks have 390 cfm, "1850-type" Holley carb's on them!! Dandy smaller tunnel ram carb's for cruising and posing, imho...

And I have two 1850's on the shelf now..

Good carb for the smaller motors like a good 327 or so on down to the venerable 283...

DON'T pitch them but rather give them away to guy's that want them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Wife's 92 Camaro with a mild 350 has one on it right now. It's 20+ years old and all I did was just rebuilt it back to stock specs. Does just fine for running 13.5 @ 104.5 so far, no tuning or tweaking whatsoever.
