Which one is better, gives off better HP, i know there both 6500rpm so.... and what is the best SBC intake over everything. thanks

I am one of the few here that will admit to liking the torker II intake (at least over the performer, not perf rpm), but your car will have to be set up for it's powerband. You'll need a higher than stock stall and lower gears. Higher compression will benifit this intake as well.

I ran a Torker II for years on my car. It made good power but I always had a problem getting a consistant idle- either I had to set it too high or take a chance on it dying if it idled too long. I played with the carb to tune around it but never could.

I went to a Weiand Steath, which is pretty similar to the RPM. Idle & off idle problems disappeared & torque improved. I felt like I lost just a bit of power at the top end but not much & the car is more enjoyable to drive.

I think a good old Holley 300-36 true high-rise dual plane is a dandy and the price is generally very good! I think Summit may have a deal on them now?? ($120 or so???)...

BUT it is a true high-rise so MAY not fit under some hoods... (Like 1.25" taller then a stock Q-Jet intake or so??)....

Im using a performer rpm.. can't compare it to the other manifold but it's a hell of an improvement over stock.

I was wondering the same thing. I've got a 350 with 3.73 rear and I have a Torker II. I also have full-length headers. I was thinking about switching to the Performer RPM. Will I notice any difference if I do? Would it be worth it? Is there a better intake for a setup like this?

It seems to me that when you consider switching to a different intake manifold, you must also consider your cam, carb, and timing, to get the full benefit from any paticular intake. Simply switching to a different intake may or may not benefit you.

With that said, I have a performer RPM intake, And it seems to be much better than stock intakes I have used in the past. However, the guy that built the engine, spent some time matching the cam, and carb, with the intake.

The Torker II is a dog once you compare it to a Holley 300-36 (Street Dominator) or Eddy RPM. As usual, I agree with pdq67, the Holley intake will feed just about any engine.

I had a torker II on my chevelle and when i swithched to a weiand accelerator it was night and day, I was a teenager then and never took it to the track but it went from barely spin the tires to john force burnouts! It was a 350 with flattops and 76cc heads comp 280h. I'll never forget that switch. Ive never used one since.
