If I'm replacing the cam in my stock '77 350 with a dual energy cam, max lift of .462 on the exhaust valve, is it required I replace the stock valve springs? Their the stock originals, but only have 29k miles on them. I believe they should be fine, as long as I don't exceed .500 lift.

You have a stock 1977 with only 29k miles on it? Cool

Do yourself a favor and buy a cheap $25 or so set of Z-28 springs and be done w/ it.

Midwest Motorsports sell's them under their short Egin springs. Or Buy the kit w/ retainers for not all that much more and a $5.00 set of new Crane locks and go.

+1 with pdq67. Buy new Z28 springs or equivalent. Cheap insurance if you want the best out of the cam swap.

If they are OE 1977, 30 year old springs than go out and get the z28 replacements... cheap insurance as springs do wear out with time
