1978 Z28 350. I removed the Charcoal cannister from the engine compartment to to clean up the spagetti of hoses. There is a steel line underneath the power brake booster. Can this be capped off?
Next I want to replace the fuel pump with a noce chrome one from Summit, but it has only one inlet. The stock pump has two inlets from the tank, is this a pump back or vapor or what??
Also if I cap these line will I need to vent the tank and if so will a vented gas cap work for this
Thanks in advance for the replies

The smaller line from the pump is a return. Some pumps don't require one, so you can go ahead and cap it if you use that summit pump.
And yes, your tank has to be vented one way or another. A vented gas cap will work fine. Thats what they used on the older cars before the smog laws put a stop to them.

Anyone have a part number for a vented gas cap for our cars, I'm having a hard time finding one since they were not meant to be vented.

I used a rear diff vent on a short piece of rubber hose on the end of the metal line when I chucked my vapor canister. Works good.

Please a little more explanation on the differential vent and will it work on both lines ( fuel pump and under the brake booster)?
