No special tool. Just make sure they are in correctly and the anti-rotation device is installed properly.

Plus put them in oil before you install them.

Good clean motor oil. Also when I installed mine the instructions said to first before soaking or anything to clean the rollers with a solvent such as brake cleaner because they use a heavy grease when installin the roller on the lifter. Just spray the lifter and work the roller til it moves freely and then soak the lifters for a few hours.
Good Luck

New oil. Pour the oil in some sort of container and then put the lifters in it for a little while then install them.

OK...is this a factory setup or your own with aftermarket parts?

If it is the latter, please step away from the lifters and educate yourself about what all is required to do with a roller camshaft retrofit. You will damage expensive engine hardware if everything is not set up correctly.

It's definitely a worthy swap. No special tools are needed other than a $15 dial indicator to check endplay IF it's a retrofit setup. If the block is a late model that was originally setup to take a roller cam, then consider yourself lucky. Lifters are 1/3 of the price of retrofit jobbies.
