i got a pair of heads(and shot engine) from a friend for $100. he needed the money and he was given the engine. well, i took the heads off and they have 2.02 valves, guide plates, screw in studs and roller tip stamped stell rockers. this was on a stock motor in a turd of a 85 monte carlo. the thing is i can't find anything about these heads. i looked up the numbers but nothing. the sides are just plain and flat, noe special casting marks. the combustion chambers are either 72 or 76cc. heres what i found on the heads.
W L10 95 and NH I-037

i found Y6 2 and 60129 on the side. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

The casting number is under the valve cover.

are the ends of the heads flat, like a machined surface? cuz if they are they might be either ftermarket heads or maybe like LT1 heads or something. although the LT1 heads have center bolts for the valve covers.

They can't be original from an 85 Monte Carlo, that's for sure. The biggest engine you could get in a Monty was the 305 HO motor (L-69). It had heads with press-in studs, 1.84/1.50 valves and no guideplates (plus they had little 58cc chambers).

yes, the sides are flat like a machined surface. i think sombody may have replaced the original heads with these not knowing what they were. the valves are stainless and the guide plates are manley. they are not for center bolt valve covers. the ports also look a little bigger than stock. aaannnd, it has springs with the newer style valve retainers and i think it has screw in valve guides

Screw in guides? That sounds strange. Can you host pics? Some of the guideliners are ribbed to give them a screwed in look. Jeff

"and i think it has screw in valve guides" Yeah you kind of lost me there. Makes more sense now. Are you able to post some pics? Jeff

Sounds like World heads. Do you see a S/R anywhere under the valve cover?

Dart heads will say 'Dart' on the side and will have their size also printed on the sides. At least mine do.
