Hi i was wondering if anyone knows where i can decode the vin on my block, ok i got a 75 camaro, and it has a late model 350 but i would like to know what it came out of and the rated hp and etc. heres the only numbers i could find on the block, they are from the lip that mates with the tranny. 14093638 the only other thing i could find on the block was on the driver side it says 5.7l and gm.

if you can look on the pad next to the waterpump this will tell us the suffix code .the suffix code when decoded will tell you the plant the engine was made and time and date also hp and car or truck

now the 1409368 is a casting # and that decodes as

350 sbc 1987-95 2 and 4 bolt roller or flat tappet one piece rear main seal

alright cool, ill get back to you with the rest of the numbers, and that helped alot, now i know what kind of intake i can get, iwas wondering why my edelbrock intake wouldnt fit lol
