what if GM made an LS6 or 7 configuration V6 or even a I-4? The old 5.7 LS6 made 400HP. Wouldn't a LS6 based V-6 make 300HP? Wouldnt a I-4 make 200 out the door. And what about the new Z06 motor? wouldn't a V6 of that strain make 360hp and an I4 240? why dont they make these?

Probably because 1/2 the cost of that Z06 V-8 motor, converting it to a I-4, would be about $10k, considering the new Z06 will probably be over $80k... adding that to the cost of a Cobat-SS would be self defeating. No-one is buying them now.

If they made an engine like that it would be more fair to call it a LS3.5, and then why not also make a 4 cylinder LS1.75 and put big fart pipes on it so the ricers would have something new? Disgracing the LS6 name isn't going to save the GM idiots.

I thought the Cobalt SS got a blown 2.2L making over 200hp anyways.

A V6 along the same lines as the 4.3L V6 would be pretty nice, but they'd probably only put it in trucks anyways.

I'd bet GM is already using similar flow technology to the LS head design in other motors anyways.
