Looks to be the same as this:

just a lower price.

Yeah I think it`s the same because it also has the same part number, I allready asked Summit if they could beat that price , because if they can I won`t have to build a stroker myself    yeah I know allways the easy way  ;)

That's a pretty killer deal, all new parts with a lot of grunt. The only thing I don't like is the hyper pistons. Toss in a bit a giggle juice and they are history. But - if you ain't gonna spray it... Just my .02

$4800. is not that bad really. I know my last 383 had close to $3000. And not half the parts that thing has. Machine work in florida will kill your engine $$$. I for one like the late one piece seal blocks, they are made in Mexico.

Yeah well that`s exactly my point of view , because I`ve done some research and the engine I wanna build is around 4000,- for parts only and it still needs to be honed and machined also so why not buy a complete engine for that kind of money I thought???????

It's a hell of a deal... but like Corkey said, no N20 and no superchargers with the pistons that are in that motor.

I will suggest you consider buying the engine from nastyz28 sponser Jegs (http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product2_10001_10002_754258_-1)as they carry GMHPP as well
and I believe will price match

Well Summit just gave me the same price for that engine , so I`ve ordered one.
I guess I don`t have to work a lot because that engine is complete :innocent: :D

Whoa, I'm in lust! And 425 HP with 9.1 compression ratio, that's pretty amazing. Keep up the pictures as you go, interesting stuff.

Man, you cannot beat GM crate motors for overall value.

Actually it has 9.9 CR according to the manual that comes with the engine.
My guess is that i won`t reach that HP ratio because of my TPI system which I`m gonna use on it.

Dont forget if you use your TPI setup you will have to use either the Scroggin Dickey Vortec TPI intakes (which Edelbrock makes for them) or the one that Edelbrock recently released under their own name.
The ports on the GM fast burn heads are the same configuration as the Vortec heads with the tall ports and the standard type TPI intakes wont match up right.
You can do a search over on the thirdgen.org site, you will find a lot of info over there.

In this picture the heads look to be drilled for both old and newer Vortec intakes? I know the older fastburn Vette heads used the old style TPI intakes too. Not so sure the ports would match very well though.

Yeah, but the stock base often won't even seal up against the taller Vortec-style intake ports, not to mention the horrible port mismatch that would exist even if it did.

Guys over on thirdgen.org have a lot of experience with TPIs on Vortec and Fastburn heads. The Edlebrock/Scoggin Dickey Vortec-style base is effectively a requirement (and the only one on the market). As is chip tuning to make the TPI system work well on a highly modified motor. Not to mention you have to turn off the EGR system in the programming (because those heads don't have an exhaust crossover for the EGR valve). The other alternative is plumbing in an external EGR system sort of like the Corvette TPI engines used, but that's a PITA especially considering it's still not going to be emissions legal when you're done anyway.

Here is the intake you need, sold by Scoggin Dickey. It ain't cheap but the stock base is a real piece of crap anyway:

http://www.sdparts.com/product/E3817/HighFloTPIVortecBaseplateforVortecandGMFastBurnCylinderHeads.aspx

Edlebrock part number is #3817 and here's a link to it on their website (scroll 2/3 way down):

http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new/mc/manifolds/chevy_sb_fuel-inject.shtml

The ZZ4 crate motor is more of a bolt-on (under) affair with a stock TPI becuase the heads are 86-down bolt pattern and have standard ports, plus it's got a much milder cam. When you get into Vortec and Fastburn heads and bigger cams it's more work.

Thanx guys I will look into it.
I`m gonna use bigger injectors and an modified chip anyway, and I don`t have to worry about emissions because it`s an old car (1984) and in my country there are just minor emissions for those.
