I have a 65 Pontiac Lemans 95% original. I have changed out the ignition with all MSD components. It runs alot better now but I am looking to change out the carb. I am not experienced in the mater and am curious to see what others have to say. Should I go with a 600cfm 500cfm. Intake manifold size? I am clueless. Any info would be great!!!

If the car is 95% original, I would be inclined to keep it that way. Have you considered a good rebuild of the stock carb?

what size engine where in those? sorry i dont know much about Lemans. i would probably go with the 600cfm, from what i understand thats pretty standard for 350's. I have a 600cfm on my sbc 350, and my brother has a 600 on his 302 ford, and they both run fine (well, mine would if i knew how to tune it properly). my brother got his off of ebay for less then i paid for mine and the guy he bought it from set it up specificlly for his engine, so the first time he started it the thing idled perfect. I bought mine from jegs, and have had a bit of trouble with idle, but again, i hardly know what iam doing. dual-plane is better for mild engines, at least thats what i have been told.

Id rebuild the stock one. Everytime Ive chagned carbs Ive had to modify the stock or replace the stock linkage. A car 95% stock is best kept that way. However Holleys website has a generic calculator for figuring out what size carb is best for you. Its its under 400ci and wont see more than 5000rpm and will probably be operating in the 1500-3500rpm range Id just get a 600cfm carb with electric choke. I like the Edelbrock 1406. Easy to tune and rebuild.
