Next week I am suppose to be picking up my rebuilt 350, well now 355 from the shop, It has a steel eagle crank, eagle rods, sealed power pistons, world sportsmanII heads, per rpm intake, demon750 dp, just under 10:4 -1 CR, Would it be best to see if the builder will break my engine before i install it? Or should this be something i do on my own, and if so how so??? I know once i installed a new cam & heads, I was told to just drive normally for the 1st 500 miles, then change the oil and GO FOR IT!! but anyway, any advice out there for me?

First make sure you prime the oil system before startup. Your machine shop may or may not have done this for you. I prefer to change the oil immediately after breaking in the cam and doing some fine tuning, just to get rid of any of the assembly lube or other stuff from the rebuild. Then once again after a few hundred miles. My theory is $15 worth of oil is a lot better than having a bunk engine. Hope this helps. Jeff

To break in the engine would probably take too long. Breaking in a flat-tappet cam on the other hand might not be a bad idea.
When you break in the cam you are supposed to run the engine for 20 minutes at 2000 to 2500 rpm and the engine and exhuast tend to get a bit warm.

If you can get the builder to do it that would REALLY save you a ton of time if there is a problem with it. I'd highly recommend it.
