Well, since the edelbrock cam in my brothers mustang went south, we have decided to replace it with the original mechanical shelby cam. But, to do this we needed to get a better set of heads. So we bought a set of World Roush 200's for it.
They are completely assembled. But the valve springs are doubles with a dampener, and are for .660" lift. The lemans cam is only a .528" lift.
Can we run that cam with those springs or do we need to take the inner spring out?

you can.. but i broke in my new cam with .480 lift with springs good to .550.. everything went fine...

Pull the inners for the break in period, Fords are less likely to lose a cam but the job still sucks if you aren't successful.

make sure there is enough valve/piston clearence. are you using stock pistons that arnt slotted?
