I think the angle plugs were on the over the counter heads. research at mortec.com ------------------ 67 camaro, 406, air gap intake, holley 750, .480 lift cam, TH-?, 3.08 gears Dirt Reynolds 04-28-2005, 01:57:00 PM No such thing as angle-plug 492 heads - straight plug only. They came on the DZ 302 and 1970 350 LT-1 engines. They come with screw-in studs and guideplates, 2.02/1.60 valves. ------------------ 'Silver Bullet' 1977 Z-28 413" SB 11.73 @ 115.10 on drag radials Old Vortec combo: 12.15 @ 110.52 71 Z Black Widow 04-28-2005, 04:48:00 PM 3991492....70-up................over the counter,Camel hump,64cc, straight or angle plug Yes there is such a thing. 1978LT 04-28-2005, 05:54:00 PM And yes, they are a fine head to use if you're on a budget and can get them for a good price, and they don't need 16 valve guides! With the non hardened seats i'd consider some Instead O Lead additive. Mwilson 04-28-2005, 07:57:00 PM I had a buddy give me a set once and one was angle the other strait! Dirt Reynolds 04-29-2005, 03:52:00 AM My mistake, they were indeed available at one time over the counter with angle plugs. The 492 factory-installed in cars were all straight plug heads, however. ------------------ 'Silver Bullet' 1977 Z-28 413" SB 11.73 @ 115.10 on drag radials Old Vortec combo: 12.15 @ 110.52 |
