sorry, forgot to ask about chevy 492 heads. Are these 2.02 intake heads good to use for a street/strip car? what the difference between the straight and angle plug 492 heads?

not worth a penny but I will give you a dime for them. http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Just joking. same answer stated in the other post. I think the angle plugs were on the over the counter heads. research at mortec.com

No such thing as angle-plug 492 heads - straight plug only. They came on the DZ 302 and 1970 350 LT-1 engines. They come with screw-in studs and guideplates, 2.02/1.60 valves.

And yes, they are a fine head to use if you're on a budget and can get them for a good price, and they don't need 16 valve guides! With the non hardened seats i'd consider some Instead O Lead additive.

My mistake, they were indeed available at one time over the counter with angle plugs. The 492 factory-installed in cars were all straight plug heads, however.
