well it took a while, but the 454(461) is finally done. everything seems to look pretty good. now just gotta buy the last of the stuff for it and hopefully get the 350 out and the 454 in. here are some pix.

the black looks great except there is a scratch right above the water pump, so there is a little orange peeking through, ill have to fix it before it goes in.

LOL - such the perfectionist. Most likely, no one would've noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out (I didn't until I read your 2nd post saying).

That being said, looks really good! What are the specs on it, and what should be the power output on that?

it is a 454, .030 over, so a 461. stock crank. standard type rods and pistons. the heads are GM, but the ones i went with will get me around 9:1 CR(so i was told). they arent the 049 or 781 heads(since i wanted to keep the CR decent). the cam is an edelbrock hydraulic flat tappet.....218 intake, 228 exhaust, AD intake 292, AD exhaust 302. Lift 500/500. it has an edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock 750cfm carb. edelbrock fuel pump. dynomax 1 7/8 full length headers to 2.5" straight pipes to two flowmasters that dump before the rear end. im not too sure what power to expect from it though. probably not too impressive. ill be happy no matter what. its got a TH350. rear end is a 373 posi. just wanna get it in the car and hear that thing run.

and that orange will always bother me if its there, lol. ill just take the paint and roll up a piece of paper real tight and shoot the nozzle into the paper, so the paint will only go where the scratch is, and it will be as good as new.

thanks for all the positive feedback. im excited to get the carb and air cleaner on, bc the air cleaner matches the valve covers. chrome with a red chevy emblem and black chevrolet on it. will look real nice when its squeezed in the engine bay. ill make sure to take pix when the swap takes place.
