i have a 79 camaro 305 with a 4 barrel newly installed and i cant get the thing to run good. I have experimented with the timimng and the throttel and the choke..i was wondering how to get that lever that opens the Primaries to open to stay in one spot...i can get it to stay if i use my finger but other wise it moves when the idle goes up...NEED HELP ASAP...thanks

Common for the choke to stick like that, it can either be you have the choke turned too rich or there is dirt and grime built up and its not releasing. If the choke is adjusted right then try spraying some WD40 on the rods to try and free up choke mechanism.
