just got my intake today. The ports are horrible. Weiand used to
make there intakes with small peanut ports. Now thay almost match
the large oval ports. But they are so out of round:smash:

Will this hurt performance??
Should I gasket port them??
Does it matter??
These are going on a 454 with large oval ports.
Should I just leave them alone??

You can tell some ports are a little larger than others. Edelbrock makes perfect
ports on there intakes, But the weiand, I think is better in design minus the port area.

Atleast Gasket match, it'll be worth the cost. You dont want the gasket to cover any part of the hole...

Take a few hours with a Dremel and port/gasket match it. This will, at least, rid you of port turbulence.

Looks like some smartass at the Weiand/Hooker Header plant swapped the CNC program and they cut header flanges into your intake.....j/k. That's kinda weird though. I don't think I've ever seen round intake ports like that.
