I just picked up the latest issue of CHP, and they have a story (preview, actually) about the new Bowtie Vortecs. Chambers are different, ports are different, they claim the design is WAY ahead of the Vortecs that we SBC guys have come to love. Anybody know anything about these heads? Do they work in the real world, or just on the bench?

I'd be surprised if anyone knew yet. These things are brand new!
On the other hand, I am sure they work, just not how well. Since there are two sizes now I bet there'll be people putting the large ones on and wondering where the torque went.

From reading the CHP article, they look promising. If I wasn't already happy with what I have, then I might be willing to try them. Maybe after they've been out for a while and I ever start a new project, who knows?

CHP advertises the "Blue Thunder 355" story making 632 HP with the new Vortecs. Haven't picked it up yet but will shortly.

The new Vortec Bow Ties come in two intake runner sizes -- 175 and 206 cc.
