I have a 77 Z28 and I want to change all the pulley's. My question is about the power steering pulley,I believe its a press on type. Has anyone had any experience with doing this. Is it very difficult ? Special tools needed ?

bolt screws into pump shaft with a washer and a nut on it... tighten the nut and it presses the pulley on.. easy

Most of the larger parts store chains have a tool rental program. You'll need the right puller and installer to do the job correctly. The rental is usually free with a deposit that's refunded when you return the tool.

Thanks...
It looks like it has a hex bolt in it, is this a press on ?
So, I should just need a pulley puller to take it off ?

No - you can't use a standard pulley puller. The puller for a power steering pulley has an attachment that grips around the lip near the shaft bore. The guys at the parts store should know what you need.

I did one recently with a tool from the Auto Zone. I've got like a jillion pullers, but none like this. It was a breeze to do with the right tool. Ain't it funny how that works? :bowtie:
