I have two factory intakes.
14057055
and
14014440

Both are spread bore quads. Which is better, or should I use them for paper weights and hope for a deal on a used aluminum piece?

Are they aluminum? SBC? The stock Qjet intake will make more torque than just about anything to 3500, then run out of breath. If you want a CHEAP intake that will perform, buy David Vizard's intake and head book. He modded a stock QJet intake that will outflow and outpower any dual plane on the market. I think he got it flowing over 280 cfm! He joined the dividing holes between the primary and secondary holes, tapered the dividing wall, and used a 1 inch open spacer, among a few other grinding tricks. It made more HP than any other intake on the market and also killed them in the low end torque department. I did one up like this if you would like to see pics!

Both are factory iron, Qjet intakes. I have a ~620 cfm Holley spread bore carb.
I'd like to see a picture of that modded iron intake and more info on the book. Thanks.

Jerry, you are in Garwood, correct? I've got a 2101 Performer around here somewhere, and I am always up in Westfield to see my GF. If you are interested, shoot me an email.

I'd still like to get some info and pictures on the Qjet intake mods. Would they work on an aluminum intake?
