Alright i've finally decided almost on my cam either comp cams 274 or 284. And i'm looking for a head with 64cc combustion chamber running 9:7 compression give or take in a standard bore 350. I'm thinking prob. modified vortec style. Running a TH400 with 2500 stall in a 78 Z.28 Anybody know of the best prices on a set of heads that will rip the asphalt off of the street and track??? So far about the best i've seen is a set of modifed GM Perf Vortecs in JEGS for $540 a side.

274, i ran the 284 with 11:1 and thought the bottom was soggy and the mid-top wasn't worth it .

I run a very similar set up with about 9.8:1 cr and the XE274 in my '79 Z. $830 for a set of Pro Toplines to my door assembled and tailor built for my engine combo. I have good reason to call it my "back road bruiser". From a dead stop without brakes, it'll lay posi's through all 3 gears about 300 ft worth. Haven't run it at the strip YET, but I think it'd be interesting.

Tri-State Cylinder Head. Call and ask for Jim, he knows a lot about what's going on. You can get Dart Iron Eagles for the same price.
