This is measured between the rods with them pushed as far apart as they will go. Minimum spec is .008" and maximum is around .025" if memory serves. Fortunately, this is a spec that is rarely far off with factory parts. They usually nail within preferred spec every time. Aftermarket rods and/or crank you better measure. Tighter is better than looser.
