What does the original air cleaner on a 71 BB look like? Also is the original air cleaner suppose to have some type of tube attached to it? It appears that there is supppose to be a tube that attaches to the air cleaner and the other end some how connects to the exhaust manifold. Any help on this would be appreciated.

If I remember the air cleaner has a Intake"tube" on it and underneath that tube is an opening for the heat pipe that came off the stock manifold to help cold run conditions. There also was the crankcase breather tube that connects to the valve cover for the PCV system.
