Ok NOW what, i used some electrical cleaner and cleaned out the dizzy on my HEI 350 camaro i also replaced the rotor with a new msd rotor, and installed a new advance curve kit, the car started fine my makes a loud TICK TICK TICK sound about 3 ticks per second at idle from the dizzy, when i rev up the car it tick gets faster, any ideas

You sure the sound is coming from the dist??
If everything is installed properly in there it should not make any noise.
Could be a valve noise or ex. leak???

Make sure the cap and rotor are both on straight and seated well... only time I have heard a ticking from a dizzy it was the rotor coming in contact with the cap...

okay so it continues, i took the cap back off, took the new rotor off checked the springs, im using the gold springs, (i think they are the tightest) they are the ones that on the back of the package showed the biggest advance, i re-installed everything ensuring that the rotor was mounter correctly (aligntment tab in the slot) and started the car again, the tick continues, so i decided to take it for a short drive and got two backfires when i tried to run it up and let out the clutch, i did let it idle and listened for the ticking and the strange part was when i held the #1 plug wire i could feel the ticking sound through the wire im not shure if the cap got damaged some how, or the timing is realy off (the car is really loud and i dont want to wake up the neighbors so i'll check it tomorrow), however it could be from the weights even with the tightest springs they seem a little loose, it's just realy weird how the sound seems to be coming from the cap where the #1 wire connects, how do i go about checking the cap

um okay so i was wrong the gold springs were the lightest ones, i just changed back to the stock weights and put in the medium springs, put it all back together and still ticking, i did check under the cap and the terminals for plugs 1 and 2 seem a little loose could this be the problem??

Sounds like the same problem I am having with timing. If this an original GM HEI you maybe not getting enought total timing. Jim Mac alerted me to this.

Or the module is bad.
