wasup guys...for a while now I have been thinking about transplanting an LS1/T56 combo into a 70-73 camaro. I plan on getting a 2nd gen camaro and making it into a daily driver. Since mpg is important to me and I cannot stand automatics ( no offence to auto freaks), I thought this is the best way to go. This plan is still in in its infancy but doesn't hurt to plan ahead. My question is, are there any second-geners out there who have done this conversion and what kinds of tribulations might lay ahead.Schitzo

Check LS1tech.com. They have a whole section for transplants, and tons of guys that know all there is to know about the LS1.

Its a GOOD idea :-)

had a 2000 Z, with 6-speed. You will like it.

I have had a 02 camaro with LS1 and currently have an 02 Z06 vette. The motors are GREAT. WIth edelbrocks carb/ignition set-up, these will be the motor swaps of the future. The tourqe curve is great.
They're dang ugly though....

there was a company that built a 70 camaro with an LS1 for Classic industries. you have probablly seen it. the car was even in Hot Rod and had some articles about what they had to do to get it to drop in. that car is a very documented car as far as that transformation goes. i'll try and find the issue of Hot Rod and let ya know.
