You can pick them up for pretty cheap at northern tools if you have one near your house.

im not planning on using it very often. i was planning on using it for this engine, then selling it again.......where can you rent them? i havent had any luck finding a place.

Call your friends. Everybody I know seems to have one in their garage. Always for sale in the local bargain paper too.

I got mine from autozone of course all my friends wanted to borrow it so I charged 20 bucks it paid for itself in no time now I just charge em a 12 pack to use it

I bought one several years ago and it is back in my garage for the first time in years now... About three of us share it. I provide the hoist, guy #2 provided the load leveler, guy#3 provides beer when we work. All is good.

FWIW, I bought mine at a place called Tractor Supply Company.

The farm supply stores around me all stock them - Farm&Fleet, Big R, etc. Worth a try.

When I need one I just rent it... about 18 bucks a day. Not having to store it 50 weeks a year is worth 20 bucks to me....;)

I found a 2-1/2ton slightly used cherry picker for $75 a couple of years ago- a repair shop went out of business and couldn't pay the rent and the landlord locked the doors and sold this guy's stuff off.
Deals are out there-if you're in no hurry.Check the Craigslist ads, newspaper ads, garage sales, local pennysaver(buy & sell periododical). HF has some good deals sometimes.

hey, yea, thats my ad, and i saw those other two. they are too far away. i have a friend that i found out has one, but its being used, so im not sure if i can use it. and someone from here offered to let me use theirs. what kinds of places rent them?

i bought one used this week ,the fold up kind ,with a 8 ton jack for $100

Around here they are $45 a day to rent- and the hassle of getting it or running overtime is a pain. I've seen them as low as $100 new, I would have bought one if I knew that before.

hey mike. thats great, i apreciate that. well i wont get the motor back til next saturday after my test. then any weekend after that works except march 10 or 11. then my spring break starts march 17 for a week. so any of those times work, i was just thinking spring break since its been like 25 degrees out lately.

Try Harbor Frieght Tools as you can find some good buys there. In fact I bought some items there today.
