hey, i would do a search, but i dont know what iam looking for..... anyways, i just put on a new carb and intake on my sbc 350. its a holley remanufactured carb from jegs (600cfm) well when i start it it runs fine for a couple seconds but then gas starts to come out of the 2nd little brass peice that sticks up and is cut at an angle, two of them one on the front and one on the back (sorry, i dont know what they are called). gas only comes out of the back one, and i shut it off really quick so i dont know if it would stop on its own. I did have some backfiring problems but i got them fixed. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

sounds like you need to set the float level on the back side of your carb. there's a screw in the side of the bowl that you need to take out. there is a nut with a screw in it on top that you will also have to use. anyway...take the side screw out and have someone crank your car. if gas starts coming out of this hole, then the float level is too high. loosen the nut and the screw on top of the bowl. turn the screw to the right to get the level to go down. when it's even with the hole or just below the hole, you've got it right. now tighten the nut up while keeping the screw in the center still. put the screw back in the side of the bowl. this should get you on the road to recovery!

probably got trash in the needle/seat on the secondary side.this will cause the fuel to do what your noticing.it's easy to fix all you have to do is remove the needle/seat and clean it off with carb cleaner and compressed air.
to do this locate the lock nut and screw assy. ontop of the fuel bowl this is your needle/seat.now with a wrench and a screwdriver loosen the round screw and remove it.next loosen the lock nut as your removing look @ how many threads are exposed on the needle/seat.this is your adjustment for the float height.now pull the needle/seat out of the bowl and clean it thoroughly and re-install it ,it's that simple.once you get it back together start your back up and your flooding problem should be no more.

well, i tried what wess said, but it seems that i have it all the way down, the screw is touching the nut and the nut is touching the carb, so i'll try cleaning it next, thanks again
